Terms of Service

1. Independent Member Status

Your membership in CFN does not create an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between you and Canada Fashion Network or any of its operators, staff, or affiliates. You are an independent professional using this platform to network, market your services, and connect with industry peers. CFN does not direct your work, set your rates, or control your professional activities.

2. No Guarantee of Funding, Income, or Opportunities

CFN makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees—express or implied—regarding the availability of funding, work, bookings, brand deals, sponsorships, grants, or income of any kind. Any opportunities presented on or through the platform are provided for informational and networking purposes only. Results vary and depend entirely on the individual member's efforts, qualifications, and external market conditions. CFN is not responsible for any financial loss, missed opportunity, or unmet expectation.

3. Payments Processed via Square

All financial transactions made through the CFN platform—including but not limited to subscription fees, service payments, event registrations, and store purchases—are processed through Square, Inc. ("Square"), a third-party payment processor. By using our payment features, you also agree to Square's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy available at squareup.com/legal. CFN is not a financial institution and does not store your full payment information. Disputes regarding charges must be raised within 30 days of the transaction. CFN assumes no liability for payment processing errors, failures, fraud, or unauthorized use that occurs through Square's infrastructure.

4. Platform Use & Conduct

You agree to use the platform lawfully, respectfully, and in accordance with our Community Guidelines. You will not post misleading, defamatory, or infringing content. CFN reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms without refund.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CFN and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.

6. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of any original content you post on the platform. By posting, you grant CFN a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, distribute, and promote your content in connection with the platform and CFN's marketing activities. You confirm that any content you post does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

8. No Professional Advice

Nothing on the CFN platform constitutes legal, financial, tax, business, or career advice. All content — including blog posts, bulletins, community discussions, and AI-generated suggestions — is provided for general informational and networking purposes only. You should seek independent professional advice before making any legal, financial, or business decisions.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Canada Fashion Network, its operators, directors, employees, partners, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of or access to the platform; (b) your violation of these terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property, privacy, or contractual right; or (d) any content you submit or transmit through the platform.

10. Communications

By creating an account, you agree that CFN may contact you by email regarding your account, transactions, and platform updates. Text message (SMS) communications are separate and require your explicit opt-in consent, given independently at signup — agreeing to these Terms does not by itself enrol you in SMS communications. You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP, and message/data rates may apply.

11. Changes to Terms

CFN may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
